In the museum's own words — in Dutch

Een rondreizende kwakzalver met een kistje op zijn rug probeert een flesje met medicijn te verkopen aan een gezin dat buiten voor het huis zit. Bij deze voorstelling is op het opzetblad (en in het inventaris) een vierregelig kinderversje geschreven over een 'Jan van Loenen'. Een 'Jantje van Loenen' is een benaming voor een kwakzalver of bedrieger.
