    First Earnings: A Watercolor of Saint Hubert

    At the age of 12 he received from Johan van Lockhorst of Leiden a gold florin for each of his twelve years for a watercolor depicting Saint Hubert; even in childhood painting brought him an income.

  2. c. 1512

    Birth of His Illegitimate Daughter Marytgen

    Around 1512 Lucas's illegitimate daughter Marytgen was born; she married the painter Dammas Claesz de Hoey, and their descendants formed the De Hoey family of artists.

  3. 1514

    Master of the Guild of Saint Luke in Leiden

    He became a master of the Guild of Saint Luke in Leiden.
