Decorates the palaces of Aranjuez and La Granja
For the last five years of his life he decorated the royal palaces of Aranjuez and La Granja. Besides portraits and mythological and biblical pictures, he produced cartoons for the tapestry manufactory.

Declares his age in Spain
He declared in Spain that he was born in Naples and was sixty-eight years old; this information, which came to light in 1933–1934, replaced the earlier assumed birth year of 1675, though it too is open to doubt.
