Om te bewijzen dat niet het beeld van de god Bel het eten nuttigt, maar de priesters, strooit Daniël as uit op de vloer van de tempel. Koning Cyrus laat de deur van de tempel verzegelen, zodat niemand ongemerkt binnen kan komen.
