About the work
This is a preparatory drawing for the final version of the title page used in Amy de la Hayes children's book, illustrated by Emily Sutton, Clara Button and the Magical Hat Day. The book is set in the Victoria and Albert Museum and was published in 2011. The final version includes an image of Clara standing between hat boxes and a hat.
