In the museum's own words — in Dutch

Het lichaam van Christus wordt omringd met rouwenden. In het midden Maria die het lichaam van Christus op schoot heeft en het hoofd ondersteunt. Links zit Maria Magdalena die de voeten vasthoudt. Rechts bij de ingang van het graf Jozef van Arimatea met de linnen doek. In de achtergrond het kruis. Onder de voorstelling een regel in het Latijn.
