About the work

In the museum's own words — in Dutch

De bruid van Christus (de kerk) in een bed met een baldakijn. Het baldakijn wordt gedragen door de kardinale deugden. Op het voeteneind een voorstelling van het oordeel van Salomo. Boven het hoofd van de bruid Christus in een wolk. Rond het bed figuren uit het Oude Testament. Op de achtergrond door een deuropening is de bruid van Christus te zien die in de stad op zoek is naar haar lief. Onder de voorstelling een verwijzing in het Latijn naar de Bijbeltekst in Hoogl. 3:1.
