Escena de brujería en una noche de Sabbat. De un cielo completamento negro desciende fantasmales figuras brujeriles para atormentar a varios hombres, desfallecidos en primer término, a quienes parecen tentar con sus artes diabólicas, iluminados por la trémula luz del candil que sujeta el espectro de un viejo monje en vuelo. Entre tan confusa visión, parece adivinarse a la izquierda a un joven mostrando al hombre recostado a su lado la imagen de un cuadro o espejo, quizá su reflejo rejuvenecido, para seducirle a un trato con el diablo. A la derecha puede verse una tumba abierta, de la que los seguidores de Satán han extraído un cadáver para celebrar sus ritos. Entre el grupo de brujas en vuelo, una muestra en sus manos una corona real y otra un reloj de arena; probablemente como símbolos de poder y juventud eterna con que los seguidores de Mefistófeles tienta al alma humana.
