About the sculpture

This relief depicts an unknown man in profile facing to the left. The sitter who has wavy brown hair, wears a dark frock coat with a black stock.

The artist Jacob Hagbolt worked as a wax modeller and painter in Cologne and London as well as travelling in Holland and elsewhere in Germany.
