May one see it?
London, United Kingdom
It belongs to the collection, but is not on display at present.
This is a bronze statuette made in Nuremberg, Germany in about 1560. The statuette, representing the Abundance, is very close in style and technique to those on the Actaeon fountain and probably from the same foundry. This once formed part of a similar house-fountain complex. On a larger scale, bronze figures of this type formed part of public fountains which became important during this period as expressions of a community's civic identity.
