A Young Woman

This portrait relief is in coloured wax against a background of deep blue glass. It depicts a half-length figure in profile to the right, showing a girl of about twenty years of age. Her brown hair is piled on the top of her head and arranged over the forehead in a ring of curls. She wears a high waisted white dress tied with a ribbon under the breasts, over the shoulder a frilled collar. Around her neck there is a string of blue beads while in her ears there is a small stud earring of gold hoop.
