May one see it?
London, United Kingdom
It belongs to the collection, but is not on display at present.
This is one of a series of paintings of the members of the household of William Fullerton, a British surgeon who lived in Patna. The style and colouring of the painting suggests that it was done by the Murshidabad artist Dip Chand while on a visit to Patna. The woman is show sitting on a western-style chair, which she would not normally have done in everyday life.
