    Marries Caterina Maria Rizzi

    Weds Caterina Maria Rizzi in the Venetian church of San Pantalon. In 1733 his first-born, Alessandro, later a portrait painter and etcher, will be born.

    Son born: Alessandro Longhi

  4. 1737

    Joins the Brotherhood of Venetian Painters

    Enters the Fraglia dei pittori veneziani (Brotherhood of Venetian Painters) and remains a member until 1773.

  5. 31 December 1756

    Admitted to the Venetian Academy of Fine Arts

    The Academy was headed by Tiepolo; Longhi's qualifying work was “Pythagoras the Philosopher”, now in the Galleria dell'Accademia. He taught there until 1780.

  6. 8 May 1785
