Για τον πίνακα
Edvard Munch painted Wilhelm Wartmann in 1923; the portrait belongs to the Kunsthaus Zürich in Zurich. Wartmann directed the museum from 1909 to 1950, and the collector Alfred Rütschi commissioned the picture. The sitter first posed at the Dolder Grand Hotel during Munch's visit in 1922. The artist returned a year later to produce this life-size oil painting. It is currently not exhibited.
