Derweil im Leben von Joan Miró

Das ganze Leben
  1. 1972–1974

Major retrospectives: New York, London, Paris

Retrospectives of Miró were held in New York and London (1972), Saint-Paul-de-Vence (1973) and Paris (1974) — a sign of the international acclaim that had grown steadily over half a century.

“Les pénalités de l'enfer”: a book from Desnos's manuscript

At the urging of Desnos's widow Miró illustrated the poet's manuscript — his first work with prose: 25 lithographs. It is one of more than 250 illustrated books by the artist, known as livres d'artiste.

  3. 1975

The Fundació Joan Miró is founded in Barcelona

The Fundació Joan Miró, a museum devoted to his work, was founded in his native Barcelona.

    Exhibition: Documenta 6

  5. 1978

Political change in Spain made possible the first full exhibition of his painting and graphic work, at the Museo Reina Sofía in Madrid.
