Über die Skulptur

This oval marble wall-monument is carved in high relief with a half-length figure of a knight, bare-headed, and clad in armour; his right hand rests on his helmet, his left on the hilt of his sword. A number of similar relief survive on tomb sculpture in Naples dating from the second half of the seventeenth century, including the kneeling figure of Tommasco Blanch in S. Domenico Maggiore by the leading Neapolitan sculptor, Andrea Falcone.
