About the sculpture
This group represents two apostles made in Germany, probably Bamberg, in ca. 1750, probably by the sculptor Georg Reuss.
The two apostles are probably from a larger group showing the Ascension of Christ. This may have been on a high altar, or a substantial side-altar.
