James Albon is an illustrator, printmaker and author of graphic novels. His graphic novels include Her Bark & Her Bite (2016) and A Shining Beacon (2019), and he has also illustrated Folio Society editions of Of Mice and Men, The Blue Flower, and Parade’s End. His editorial illustration clients include The Guardian, The Financial Times, Libération and the Wall Street Journal. (source Scottish Book Trust).

The watercolour and gouache illustration won the editorial prize of the V&A Illustration Awards, 2022. It featured in the French magazine La Zep as part of series of articles in Libération and La ZEP magazines ‘written by young people on the world of TikTok and its hypnotic effects on their mental health’, and effectively demonstrates the purpose of editorial illustration in encapsulating the theme of an article using a single image.
