Das ganze Leben
  1. early 1915

He begins keeping detailed journals that he later calls his Daybooks; for the next two decades he records his thoughts about his work, observations about photography, and his dealings with friends, lovers and family.

  2. c. 1915 – 1916

    Meets Johan Hagemeyer

He meets the photographer Johan Hagemeyer, whom he mentors and sometimes lends his studio; Hagemeyer later returns the favour by letting Weston use his studio in Carmel after Weston returns from Mexico.

  3. 6 December 1916

    Birth of his son Neil

His third son, Lawrence Neil Weston, is born; he too follows in his father’s footsteps and becomes a well-known photographer.

  4. 30 January 1919

    Birth of his son Cole

His fourth son, Cole Weston (1919–2003), is born; his wife Flora, who spends all her time caring for the children, now rarely has time to leave the house.
