Über das Werk

Oblique view of the sculpture known as the "Belvedere Apollo." The sculpture depicts a male figure wearing a "chlamys" or cloak over his shoulder and draped over his forearm. He has one arm outstretched as if shooting an arrow. The sculpture is placed on top of a pedestal with the inscriptions, "Belvedere Apollo. From the Vatican," written on its front side.
