Triumph of "Salome" at the Berlin Secession
After the Munich Secession refused to exhibit "Salome," Corinth decided to leave Munich; in July 1900 the painting became the focus of the second Berlin Secession exhibition, and, in his own words, he became "a big name" in Berlin.

Opening of an Art School in Berlin
Corinth's art school opened in his studio on Klopstockstrasse; its first pupil was the 21-year-old Charlotte Berend, who became his constant model.

Solo Exhibition at Paul Cassirer's
Paul Cassirer organized a special exhibition of Corinth's works; a year later the artist was elected to the board of the Berlin Secession.

Marriage to Charlotte Berend
He married his first pupil, Charlotte Berend, who took the double surname Berend-Corinth; on 13 October of the same year their son Thomas was born, and family life became a major theme of his art.
