Im Leben von Rockwell Kent

Das ganze Leben
  1. 1922–1923

    Voyage to Tierra del Fuego

He made a voyage to Tierra del Fuego; his recollections of the expedition formed the book Voyaging Southward from the Strait of Magellan (1924).

  2. 1925

    Logo for Viking Press

He designed the logo for the New York publishing house Viking Press.

  3. 1926

    Journey to Ireland

He traveled to Ireland, where he lived and worked for extended periods.

  4. 1926–1930

    Illustrations for "Moby-Dick"

The publisher R. R. Donnelley offered Kent Dana's Two Years Before the Mast to illustrate, but the artist chose Melville's Moby-Dick instead. The three-volume limited edition of 1930 with his pen drawings (1,000 copies) sold out instantly; Random House issued a trade edition.
