This watercolour depicts a landscape with a figure seated in the central foreground and cattle along the river’s edge in the distance, possibly a valley in Yorkshire where Dawson lived at the time. Dawson is primarily remembered as a metalworker alongside his wife, Edith, but he began his career as a landscape artist.
