    Regains favour under the Consulate and Empire

    He regains popularity and is taken on as one of the original artistic team for what becomes the Column of the Grande Armée.

    Receives the Legion of Honour

    On 17 December 1804 he is made a Chevalier of the Legion of Honour.

  3. 1805–1823

    Teaches at the School of Fine Arts

    From 1805 to 1823 he teaches sculpture at the School of Fine Arts in Paris.

  4. 1809

    Made a Chevalier of the Empire

    In 1809 he is created a Chevalier of the Empire; in 1816 letters patent make the title hereditary.
