Über das Werk

A single hand rests incongruously atop the window seat on a train. Has it been left behind in a criminal act, or has a mischievous rider hopped behind the bench to poke their hand between the seat cushions? Arthur Tress’s photograph plays upon the stuff of childhood nightmares: creatures that lurk beneath otherwise innocent furniture or reach from darkened realms to grasp the unwitting.
