His study of form, particularly of points and lines, led to the publication of his second theoretical book; his examination of the effect of forces on straight lines coincided with the research of the Gestalt psychologists, also discussed at the Bauhaus.

Stages Mussorgsky's “Pictures at an Exhibition”
The stage production of Mussorgsky's “Pictures at an Exhibition” with Kandinsky's designs, which illustrate his idea of a universal correspondence of forms, colours and musical sounds, premiered in Dessau.
1930s
The Nazis confiscate the “Compositions”
A Nazi raid on the Bauhaus led to the confiscation of Kandinsky's first three “Compositions”, all of which were destroyed in World War II. His work was also caught up in the campaign against “degenerate art”; his now-lost “Zweierlei Rot” (1916) was shown in the Degenerate Art exhibition.
