In den Worten des Museums — auf Spanisch

Anverso: Ex voto. Interior del pozo de San Vicente de Valencia. Se insinúan algunas figuras junto a la pila de la pared izquierda, sobre la que hay un altar y una ventana, flanqueada por lámparas colgantes. Al fondo, en esta misma pared, hay una puerta. En el muro de la derecha se abre otra puerta, frente a la que hay un bancal con cofres para ofrendas, junto al que se insinúan también varias figuras. Las manchas que presenta el papel corresponden al dibujo de la hoja anterior, nº Inv. 12050, que se ha copiado por contacto. Reverso: Locutorio. Interior del locutorio de un convento, con zócalo de azulejos recorriendo las paredes. Al fondo, en la pared derecha, se abre una ventana enrejada, frente a la que hay un banco, con un gran biombo detrás para crear un espacio reservado. A la derecha vemos parte de otro biombo.

    Sorolla returned to Valencia to marry Clotilde García del Castillo; by 1895 they had three children — María, Joaquín and Elena.

    Moves to Madrid: large canvases for the salons

    The family moved to Madrid. For the next decade Sorolla concentrated on large canvases of orientalist, mythological, historical and social subjects for salons and international exhibitions in Madrid, Paris, Venice, Munich, Berlin and Chicago.
