Inscripție pe soclu, dreapta jos: Le Centaure / mourant. Inițialele AB și monograma artistului pe soclu, dreapta spre mijloc. Frontal, pe pieptul centaurului, partea stângă, inițiala artistului: E. Twenty years of teaching at the Grande Chaumière
From 1909 to 1929 Bourdelle taught at the Académie de la Grande Chaumière; his students included Germaine Richier, Alberto Giacometti, Margaret Cossaceanu, Isaac Frenkel and Adaline Kent.

Vera Mukhina comes to study with him
In 1912–1914 the outstanding Russian sculptor Vera Mukhina studied with Bourdelle at the Académie de la Grande Chaumière in Paris and took a great deal from her teacher.
