Über das Werk
In this work Lalic explores the mark-making properties of the most basic of art materials - the pencil. She has used pencils ranging from 8B (the softest) to 8H (the hardest) to create blocks of shading. The grid format emphasises her methodical, almost scientific approach to this exercise.
