Chief sculptor of the All-Union Agricultural Exhibition
In October 1948 he is appointed chief sculptor of the All-Union Agricultural Exhibition.
1948–1949
Two more Stalin Prizes
In 1948 he receives a Stalin Prize of the second degree for the sculptural portrait of Guards Colonel General V. I. Chuikov (1947), and in 1949 the same prize for the sculptural portraits of the twice Hero of the Soviet Union T. T. Khryukin and the Hero of Socialist Labour N. Niyazov.
1950
Stalin Prize for the Berlin monument and the relief
He receives a Stalin Prize of the first degree for the monument to the soldiers of the Soviet Army in Berlin and the high relief We Swear to You, Comrade Lenin!
1953
Full member of the USSR Academy of Arts
In 1953 he becomes a full member (academician) of the USSR Academy of Arts, having been a corresponding member since 1947.
1958
Grand Prix at the Brussels World Exhibition
He is awarded the Grand Prix of the Brussels World Exhibition; in the same year, a silver medal of the USSR Ministry of Culture.
1959
People’s Artist of the USSR
He is made a People’s Artist of the USSR (earlier he had become a People’s Artist of the RSFSR in 1951 and an Honoured Art Worker of the Kazakh SSR in 1957).
