Om værket

Claudia Sarnthein was born in Germany in 1967, and since 1997 has lived and worked in London. Her fine-art practice consists of drawing, photography and installation. She has described the immediacy which she finds in the medium of drawing: 'In contrast to my large-scale and rather conceptual photographic projects, the direct and instantaneous nature of drawing enables me to be guided purely by the image, and not by a narrative or rationale. The drawings emerge through a long non-verbal process of condensation, an attempt to distill essence.'
