Tien Europese munten, in twee kolommen van vijf afgebeeld. Deze prent is onderdeel van een serie van tien prenten met voorstellingen van munten die tussen 1522 en 1629 in omloop gebracht zijn in Europa, voornamelijk in Duitsland en Italië. Van elke munt zijn de voor- en achterzijde naast elkaar weergegeven, verbonden door een cartouche met de letters AR (argentum - zilver) of AV (aureum - goud). De zilveren munten beslaan de eerste negen bladen en een deel van het tiende blad, dat verder voornamelijk gouden munten toont.

Declines to serve Louis XIII
King Louis XIII of France offers Callot a place at his court, but the artist declines; by one account, as a patriot of Lorraine he could not forgive the king for the devastation of his homeland by French troops.
