He received the Order of the IV class (1995), III class (2000), II class (2005) and I class (2010); the last was awarded for an outstanding contribution to the development of Russian fine art and many years of creative and teaching work.

Vladimir Putin visits the Glazunov Gallery
Prime Minister Vladimir Putin visited the Glazunov Gallery and congratulated the artist on his 79th birthday; standing before the painting “Prince Oleg and Igor” (1972) he suggested that Prince Oleg’s sword be made a little larger. The artist promised to correct the painting and praised the head of government for his good eye.

Last exhibitions at the Manege in Moscow and St Petersburg
At his last exhibitions, in the Moscow Manege (2010) and the St Petersburg Manege (2011), he showed the new canvases “Dekulakisation”, “The Expulsion of the Merchants from the Temple” and “The Last Warrior”, landscape studies painted from nature in oils, and a lyrical self-portrait, “Spring Again”.
