This portrait of a Rajasthani princess depicts her wearing a thin white muslin sari edged with gold and a muslin choli. In addition to her necklaces, she has a garland of flowers around her throat; in her upheld hands she holds a pearl necklace with a pendant set with a large red stone that is probably a spinel. In the foreground is the balcony of a terrace inscribed in Persian by the artist in its central compartment 'Raqam-e Hajji Muhammad Hussain', with the date '1[1]88' [AD 1774-5].
