  1. 1894–1918

    Heads the life-drawing class at the Moscow school

    From 1894 until 1918 Arkhipov headed the life-drawing class of the Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture; many well-known artists of the first half of the twentieth century — S. V. Gerasimov, B. V. Ioganson, M. S. Saryan and others — were proud to have been his pupils. He himself never married and had no children, but his style and traditions were continued by a close relative, Boris Viktorovich Pyrikov.

  2. 1898

    Becomes an academician of the Imperial Academy of Arts

    In 1898 Arkhipov was given the title of academician of the Imperial Academy of Arts.

  3. 1904

    Co-founds the Union of Russian Artists

    In 1904 Arkhipov became one of the founders of the Union of Russian Artists.
