Imens i livet hos Godfrey Kneller
Hele livetearly 1700s
Justice of the Peace for Middlesex
Besides painting, he serves as a Justice of the Peace for the county of Middlesex; he is said to have had a shrewd wit and sound judgment and to have dispensed a rough-and-ready equity that commanded respect. Among his cases was a well-known entrapment trial, immortalised by Alexander Pope in a satire published in 1737.

Marriage to Susanna Grave
At St Bride's Church in London he marries a widow, Susanna Grave, daughter of the Reverend John Cawley, Archdeacon of Lincoln, and granddaughter of the regicide William Cawley. The couple had no children.
1709
Builds a house at Whitton
He builds a house at Whitton, near Twickenham; in the mid-19th century Kneller Hall, home of the Royal Military School of Music, was established on its site.
