This painting is from an album depicting the silk industry. It shows men and women gathering the 'lusang' mulberry leaves which are used to feed silkworms. The 'lusang' is a mulberry tree that grows rapidly and produces an abundance of leaves. It is particularly suitable for silk-producing districts where silkworms are reared all year round.
