Om værket
This drawing on the verso of the page that E.1349:72-2001 has been pasted on to is a portrait of a young woman. The portrait bust shows the sitter in three quarter profile while she turns her face to show her left profile. The bodice and neckline of the dress have been sketched using loose lines while fine lines and hatching have allowed the artist to make a more detailed observation of her face. The style of her dress and hair suggests that the drawing dates from the 1840s. The artist of the drawing is unknown, however the inscription in the bottom right hand corner of the page "G" could refer to the artist.
