This copper repouseé bust, possibly representing Clement VIII, is by an unknown artist, made in Italy (Rome) in the early 17th century.
The presence of St. Benedict on the orphrey of the cope suggests that the prelate represented was a member of the Benedictine order. The bust is coarsely executed, and may originally have been mounted on the top of a memorial tablet or wall monument.
