Together with the French-Hungarian sculptor Joseph Csaky, Archipenko exhibited at the first public manifestations of Cubism in Paris — the Salon des Indépendants and the Salon d’Automne of 1910 and 1911 — becoming, after Pablo Picasso, the first to employ the Cubist style in three dimensions.
