Equestrian reliefs for an arch in Brooklyn
Acknowledging Eakins's expertise in equine anatomy, his friend the sculptor William Rudolf O'Donovan asked him to collaborate on the commission for bronze equestrian reliefs of Abraham Lincoln and Ulysses S. Grant for the Soldiers' and Sailors' Arch in Grand Army Plaza, Brooklyn.
